Mother Blessing Ceremony
What is a Mother Blessing?
A Blessingway or Mother blessing is a sacred Navajo ceremony that celebrates a woman's rite of passage into motherhood or rite of passage into a mother of multiple children.
Those attending celebrate the mother as a circle of women supporting and holding space for the pregnant mothers birth and post-natal phase.
My Offering
During the Mother Blessing ceremony we sit in circle, light a Mother candle, and embrace with joy and devotion the rite of passage towards motherhood. Every aspect of the gathering is to celebrate and honor your initiation towards birth and motherhood. My role is to create a sacred and safe container of sisterhood and support for your new journey because every birth and every child brings a new opportunity for growth, expansion and healing.
I work closely with the Mamma-to-be and/or her friends to create a ceremony that is a true reflection of who She is, and what She envisions for her Birth. I create a space where the Mamma and ALL of her guests can sit back and relax and fully participate and bring “presence” to the ceremony.
All offerings include:
An initial 30-minute Zoom consultation to meet and discuss your wishes and intentions for the ceremony. I suggest that you invite a close friend to join you during our session to support us and create the most beautiful and nurturing experience for you on the day.
A 2.5-hour ceremony full of sisterhood and sacredness completely designed and crafted around your needs and desires. Possible offerings include: a foot and hand massage with beautiful essential oils, a mini cacao ceremony, a yoga nidra practice, a nature mandala practice and more.
Investment
$395 for up to 15 guests which includes 4-5 hours of preparation and ceremony plus artefacts or materials needed to create the ritual.
Venue and materials, such as beads and food will need to be provided by the host or guests. Extra travel fee applies for areas outside of the Blue Mountains, NSW.
“My Mother Blessing led by Akua was the starting point of journeying inward towards birth. Akua held a space for me and my most beloved with grace, love and deep spiritual knowing. She brought us all together to honor the making of me into a Mother. Akua’s mandalas are really something she loves and it shows. They are beautiful, created with nature, weaved with wisdom and deeper knowing.” Zena (Sydney, NSW).
